What is Energy Therapy and How Does it Work?
Energy therapy may sound ungrounded, but it is in fact securely grounded in scientific findings. Quantum Physics supports the basic foundation of energy therapy through operating on the belief that all living beings emit energy: plants, animals, and humans alike. Regardless of whether that energy is referred to as a soul, chi, or ki, that same energy is what differentiates a living being from being lifeless, thus creating the term life energy. This “ki,” as the Japanese refer to it, surrounds our physical body and has a large effect not only on our physical health, but also on our mental, spiritual, and emotional well-being.

Kirlian photography, a scientific tool in use since the 1930s, employs a special type of film to illuminate the life energy around plants, animals, and people. Because we cannot always feel this energy, its effects may not be understood to be directly related to our energy field, but many times it is, even if only marginally. Not only can our energy fields affect our physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional health, but our physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional health can also affect our energy fields, creating a relationship cyclical in nature. For this reason, it is extremely beneficial to regularly cleanse those channels, just as you would regularly cleanse channels within other operating mechanisms, such as a car for instance. These pathways can sometimes become blocked or strained, causing unbalance, unease, and in most severe cases, illness. Both Reiki and Integrated Energy Therapy (IET) work to cleanse our energy and its channels to revive and rebalance our physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional well-being.
Reiki is an ancient Japanese technique designed to not only promote physical healing, but also relaxation and stress reduction through hands-on cleansing of energy and IET works to safely and gently release limiting energy patterns that, when left untreated, result in energetic blockages. Although energy therapy is not a guaranteed cure for illness, it acts as a nice complement to general medical therapies, and works well for those with chronic or degenerative diseases in decreasing the side effects of medications and treatments.
Can a Reiki and Integrated Energy Therapy Healing Session Help Make me Feel Better?
Short answer, absolutely. Even one Energy Healing session can make a big difference. Because the healing is so gentle, it can only help, never harm. Reiki and IET healing sessions treat various concerns from physical pains to mental stress and everything in between. Reiki is an increasingly popular therapy recommended for a variety of acute and chronic conditions, and when combined with IET provides the body with integrative healing.
Treatments last about 60-90 minutes and take place on a Reiki table with the client fully clothed. The client simply relaxes while I work my way through their energy channels by placing my hands on specific areas, never invasive, of the body. Once the treatment is over, I always provide my clients with the tools necessary to continue their healing even off of the table. The healing does not stop after the session, but rather continues with an individual comprehensive healing plan designed just for you. Treatments involve both the hands-on healing session as well as short consultations both preceding and following the session. Once your body is balanced through Reiki/IET sessions, deeper healing can and will begin.
What Can I Expect to Feel Following a Treatment?
Because each session is individually tailored to fit the needs of each client, the aftermath of each session can vary. However, most clients experience an overwhelming sense of calm and ease immediately after a treatment. In the weeks following, the energy work accomplished through the session brings healing in many forms, though not always outwardly noticeable. In many cases, for the treatment to achieve best results, more than one session is recommended.
